100 Meter Films is the only company of it's kind in Japan, an Independent Feature Film Production Company, based outside Tokyo and established and run by two British producers, in association with a Japanese partner. 100 Meter Films was registered as a Ltd. Company in 1999 and raised investment capital to produce their first feature film, Firefly Dreams. Our investor's package layed out a plan to produce two more feature films at relatively low costs over the next six years. Inspired by the recent success of independent Japanese films in Europe and the U.S.A and the expanding market in Asia for Japanese entertainment, as well as the rapid explosion in theatrical sceening venues within Japan itself we believe there is a definite need for high quality feature films with universally valid premises and storylines. Nagoya, the city where we are based offers the whole range of locations, from ultra-modern high rises, to beautiful rural settings, within an hour's drive. Production costs are lower here than in Tokyo and we can call on a team of local, highly skilled professionals to organize and shoot.
