Translators

Do you have strong written English, excellent Japanese and know the difference between a slug line and a transition? Then we want to speak with you.

We're always looking for freelance translators with strong creative translation skills for Japanese-English translation of film industry documents such as feature length story synopses, treatments and screenplays.

Applicants with a proven background in the creation and/or translation of English language fiction/arts-related works are preferred. Those with a background in and working knowledge of English language feature film screenplay and treatment formatting are particularly sought. However, those applicants with strong written language and translation skills are also encouraged to apply.

In principal, successful applicants will:

1. Be native English speakers, and fluent in Japanese; and,
2. Work remotely from home or office on a per project basis; and,
3. Have their own computer (PC or Mac) with word-processing (e.g. Microsoft Word) and screenwriting software (e.g. Final Draft); and,
4. Be able to receive and deliver all material promptly via email; and,
5. Possess a current and valid work visa if based in Japan; and,
6. Have a current Japanese bank account.
